Advisor’s Edge won two awards and received two honourable mentions at the Canadian Business Media Awards, held June 7th.

The 62nd annual awards celebrate the best magazines that write for trade or professional audiences.

Advisor’s cover for the April 2015 issue of Advisor’s Edge won gold in the Best In-House Cover category. The design, executed by art director Gil Martinez, was for the story “How to advise clients who embrace risk.”

Deputy editor Suzanne Sharma won silver in the Best Professional Article category for her article, “Single, elderly, in need of help,” which was also published in the April 2015 issue of Advisor’s Edge. Gold in that category went to Advisor’s sister magazine, Conseiller, for Didier Bert’s piece, “Are sales quotas effective?

The Advisor team also received two honourable mentions. Content editor Jessica Bruno’s story, “How I got my CIM,” was nominated in the Best How-To Article or Series of How-To Articles category, while art director Lena Diaz’s design for that piece was nominated in the category of Art Direction of an Opening Spread/Complete Feature.

Many of Advisor’s sister magazines were also honoured yesterday, including The Medical Post, Canadian Grocer and Marketing, which won Magazine of the Year.
