Need to get your client thinking about their role as a trustee? Try these tips.

If a client has recently been asked to become a trustee, make sure they know what that means before they commit. Run through their responsibilities and explain the rules that apply to their investment decisions on behalf of the trust. Ensure they have a good working relationship with the legal counsel that will support them when carrying out trustee responsibilities. If they’re uncomfortable, offer to sit in on a few meetings with the legal counsel or other parties while they gain an understanding of the role.
