BlackRock Canada is launching a series of mutual funds—BlackRock Strategic Portfolio Series built with iShares ETFs.

The BlackRock Strategic Portfolio Series has management expense ratios from 0.09% to 0.75% lower than the respective fund’s corresponding category asset-weighted average.

It’s made up of seven allocation funds across either income or risk/return-oriented outcomes:

BlackRock Diversified Monthly Income Portfolio – the goal is to provide consistent monthly cash distributions and modest long-term capital growth by investing primarily in iShares ETFs (or mutual funds) and provide exposure to fixed income and equity securities.

BlackRock All Bond Portfolio – the goal is consistent income and capital preservation. The fund will invest primarily in iShares bond ETFs (or mutual funds).

BlackRock Defensive Portfolio – this fund also invests only in fixed-income securities, with the goal of providing income and modest long-term capital growth.

BlackRock Conservative and Balanced Portfolios – two balanced funds that will invest primarily in iShares ETFs (or mutual funds) and provide exposure to fixed income and equity securities.

BlackRock Growth Portfolio – the goal is to provide long-term capital growth and modest current income by investing primarily in iShares ETFs (or mutual funds).

BlackRock Max Growth Portfolio – the goal is to provide long-term capital growth by investing primarily in iShares equity ETFs.

Internationally, BlackRock currently manages mutual fund platforms in over 35 countries with more than US $420 billion in AUM.
