Former Goldman Sachs executive Neel Kashkari plans to challenge California Governor Jerry Brown, reports Bloomberg.

It adds Kashkari—who was selected by ex-Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson to help rescue the U.S. banking system—“ran the $700 billion Troubled Asset Relief Program under President George W. Bush.”

And Kashkari has now “assembled a team of Republican campaign strategists” to help him take on Brown, who has already raised millions for a possible re-election run. Read more.
