Standard Life has hired two new executives, expanding its group insurance and industry liaison teams.

Barbara Foy-Pilchner is now Standard Life’s vice president and national director of strategic accounts, retail markets. This is a newly-created position, and Foy-Plichner will manage the company’s relationships with the MFDA, IIROC and MGAs.

She holds an Honors BA in Economics from the University of Toronto and brings more than 15 years of experience in the financial services industry to the role.

Lyna Gendron is now Standard Life’s associate vice-president, pricing and underwriting, group insurance. She brings 15 years of life insurance experience to the company. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science from Laval University (Québec City), is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Society of Actuaries. She’s also a member of the CFA Institute.

Standard Life had $396 billion in assets under administration, including $46.1 billion in Canada through Standard Life Financial Inc. at September 30, 2013.
