Dr. Martin Murenbeeld has been named the chief economist of Dundee Goodman Private Wealth and Dundee Capital Markets. His appointment was effective as of November 1, 2013.

Murenbeeld will work out of the company’s Victoria, B.C. office. He’ll provide analysis and advice on economic and financial developments. He’ll focus on North American interest rates, currency trends and gold movements.

Murenbeeld has been an independent consultant for more than 30 years. As such, he’s a highly respected member of the financial community, says John Cucchiella, senior vice president and head of retail at Dundee Goodman Private Wealth.

Murenbeeld was previously a member of the Faculty of Management Studies at University of Toronto. He formed Murenbeeld and Associates after leaving the university and then moved the company to B.C. in 1989.
