Most people (83%) say employees are treated equally in the financial services sector, finds a new BMO study.
Still, more than half (66%) of women say male employees are offered career opportunities more regularly. The study encourages institutions to review HR policies and processes as a result.
On a positive note, most Canadians (79%) are also happy with how the financial services sector treats female customers. Regarding quality of practices, the sector trailed the retail (88%) and health services (89%) sectors, but beat the trade (42%) and automotive (39%) industries.
