If any of your snowbird clients are still down south, suggest they check out a new play that offers insight on inheritance wars.
Dividing the Estate, a drama written by Horton Foote, features the plight of a farming family in the middle of a recession, reports the Palm Beach Daily News. In it, three self-absorbed adult siblings argue about what to do with the farm, while their mom, Stella, doesn’t want the farm to be divided while she’s still alive.

William Hayes, the play’s director, told the Daily News that the themes in the play are all too true for some of his wealthy donors.
“I’m disturbed about the number of families and siblings who are divided over money and will issues,” Hayes told the Daily News. “Many children have a strong sense of entitlement to their parents’ money. Some are disputing over their parents’ wills when their parents are still alive.”
