In the next two weeks 18 American companies will make their debuts on the markets, reports the Wall Street Journal.

Companies heading to market include renewable-energy firm Abengoa Yield, financial data company Markit and drug company ZS Pharma.

Analysts say the bumper-crop of offerings, which is the most since April, is in part due to little expected economic news.
