“This error impacts only the July 2014 estimates,” said Statistics Canada in a statement.
StatsCan says the source of the error has been identified and it will release corrected estimates on August 15.

Statistics Canada also said it “takes this matter very seriously and is immediately launching a review of the data verification processes in place.”
A report on the results of the review will be published on the Statistics Canada website as soon as it is available.
