Sun Life’s Dean Connor and National Bank’s Louis Vachon are two of the top CEOs in Canada, says Canadian Business in its CEO of the Year issue.

CB named Connor top new CEO. When he got the job in 2012, he said the company would increase its earnings to $2 billion by 2015. Under his leadership, the company nearly hit that goal in 2013—two years ahead of schedule.

Vachon is CB’s all-around CEO of the year. National Bank has grown under Vachon’s “one client, one bank” strategy. It’s about offering clients all their financial services—from credit cards to small business services—in one place, and ensuring consistent high-quality service for clients, across all parts of the business.
