An ex-Rochdale Securities trader is being charged with fraud, after an alleged attempt to profit from a $1 billion purchase of Apple stock, reports CNBC.com.

Allegations say David Miller, 40, sought to profit from trades of more than 1.6 million Apple shares. He also tried to protect himself against a fall in company profits by using a hedging strategy that involved defrauding another broker.
