Chris Hadfield has retired from the space program and moved back to Canada after decades away from home.
The famous astronaut left the Canadian Space Agency in July, which meant he moved from Houston, Texas, where he built his 21-year career.
“(I’ll be) making good on a promise I made my wife nearly 30 years ago—that yes, eventually, we would be moving back to Canada,” Hadfield says. “I’m looking forward to the next phase of life.”
He spent his first day of retirement going to the Calgary Stampede and told Canadian Press he’d planned to move back to Toronto. Last week, CityTV reported that he attended a Blue Jays game and signed autographs.
