GMP Capital says its subsidiary, GMP Securities, is holding a charity trading day on June 26, 2013.

This event will support relief efforts in Alberta for those affected by heavy flooding in Calgary and in southern regions of the province. GMP Securities will donate 100% of all agency trading commission dollars from institutional equity trades generated that day.

“We maintain a significant investment banking and wealth management presence in the city, and know firsthand the impact of the flood on the city,” says Harris Fricker, CEO of GMP.

Sun Life Financial is also making a donation of $100,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help the tens of thousands who were evacuated in southern Alberta during the worst of the flooding.
