ScotiaMcLeod’s leader Hamish Angus is retiring effective December 31, 2013.

Alex Besharat, the firm’s director, western regional manager, is set to take over the role of managing director and head of ScotiaMcLeod, effective January 1, 2014.

Angus leaves the firm after a 27-year tenure. He joined ScotiaMcleod in 1986 (then McLeod Young Weir) as an investment executive in Vancouver. He’s been head of the company since 2004.
