Vancouver-based Union Securities has announced the appointment of Sam Collins as its executive vice-president, retail. Collins is based in Toronto, and will oversee all retail sales management and recruitment across the firm’s 14 branches across the country.
“We are very pleased to welcome Sam into this role,” said John MacPhail, CEO of Union Securities Ltd. “Over the past year, our focus has been to grow Union into the independent, Canadian investment dealer of choice, and we believe Sam will be a great asset to our team.”
Collins is a 20 year industry veteran, having served in firms as large as Merrill Lynch and CIBC, as well as independent firms like Jennings Capital and MGI Securities.
Over his career, he has recruited advisors with over $2 billion in assets under administration, and facilitated two separate acquisitions of IIROC member firms.
