An economist’s confident predictions about what to expect in the markets may be sound assuring, but they’re not particularly accurate, reports Benefits Canada.

Craig Bodenstab, investment counsellor at Orbis Investment Management, compared forecast U.S. inflation rates, bond and equity performance to the actual numbers.

“The industry hasn’t predicted one single downturn in the previous 50 years,” he says.
