Mackenzie Investments is forming a new investment group: the Mackenzie Systematic Strategies Team.

At the end of September, the team will take over managing Mackenzie’s Canadian Large Cap Growth Fund, the equity component of the Canadian Large Cap Balanced Fund and a number of institutional accounts. The team’s task will be to combine all of the firm’s research insights with a rigorous and disciplined portfolio construction process.

Leading the team is Rick Weed, senior vice president, Investment Management. Matthew Cardillo, vice president, Investment Management will be co-manager.

The are further staff changes at Mackenzie. Chuck Roth is retiring. Roth was manager of the Canadian Large Cap Growth Fund and the equity component of the Canadian Large Cap Balanced Fund. Christopher Sit, associate portfolio manager, who worked with Chuck Roth, will move to the growth team at the end of September.
