The top 10 universities in the world are located in the U.S., U.K. and Switzerland, finds the 12th annual QS World University Rankings.
But Canada also had a good showing, with four of our major institutions appearing in the global top 100. Those were McGill University in 24th place, University of Toronto in 34th place, University of British Columbia in 50th place, and University of Alberta in 96th place.
They all fell several spots compared to their 2014 rankings, says the study.
The strength of Canada’s universities bodes well for students concerned about their post-university employment prospects, it adds, noting that ten Canadian universities are among the world’s top 250 schools for employable graduates.
