Home loan applications went up last week in the U.S., and refinancing requests outnumbered purchases, reports Reuters.

Applications to either buy a home or refinance a purchase went up 1.3% in the week ending Oct. 4, finds the Mortgage Bankers Association, which tracks the rates.

The week prior, demand fell 0.4%.
