Edward Jones has announced Gary Reamey will step down from his leadership role in Canada at the end of 2011. Reamey has been at the helm since 1994, and will continue as a senior partner and a member of the firm’s senior management team until he retires at the end of 2012.

Reamey spearheaded the firm’s international expansion efforts in 1994, when Edward Jones opened its first office outside of the U.S. Under his leadership, the firm has grown to more than 600 branch offices in Canada, with branch offices in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan.

“We owe Gary tremendous gratitude for his 18 years of leadership and the hard work he has invested into our international expansion,” said Jim Weddle, Edward Jones managing partner.

He will be succeeded by David Lane, who will also join the firm’s senior management team. Lane has been a partner with the firm since 1998. He came to Canada in 2010 with responsibility for financial advisor recruiting, training and branch development.

Lane joined Edward Jones in 1987, becoming one of its top-producing financial advisors. He moved to the U.S. home office in St. Louis in 2006 and served in a variety of leadership roles before relocating to Canada.

“David brings a wealth of experience to his new position and I’m confident he will continue our success in bringing exceptional service to even more clients in Canada,” Weddle said.
