The Bloomberg reporter suspected of leaking a story about the wire service’s muzzling of its editorial division in China has now been suspended, reports the New York Post.

Reporter Michael Forsythe, who worked in the news service’s Hong Kong bureau, is on unpaid leave as of Nov. 14, the Post reports.

He is accused of being the source of allegations that Bloomberg killed a story embarrassing to the Chinese government, reported in the New York Times Nov. 9.

Bloomberg has denied the claim that they killed the story over fears the government would kick its data terminals out of the country.

The company is also expected to lay off as many as 100 people in the coming weeks.
