BMO Capital Markets, has named Michael Gregory as its new deputy chief economist. He’s also the head of U.S. Economics.

The appointment is effective as of November 4, 2013, and Gregory will be based in Chicago. He’ll report to Doug Porter, chief economist of BMO Capital.

Gregory will be responsible for ramping up the exposure of BMO’s economic research in the U.S., while also providing research to U.S. dollar-focused clients around the world. Additionally, he’ll support the bank’s U.S. Fixed Income business.

He joined BMO in 2001 as the head of the financial services analysis team. He joined BMO Capital Markets Economics three years later.
