Mark Carney has received an early Christmas gift this year.

As the incoming BoE governor, Financial Times reports he’s in line to get a housing allowance that dwarfs the salary of the prime minister—it’s been announced he’ll be given £250,000 a year to cover costs.

And the buck doesn’t stop there, as he’ll also receive a salary of £624,000, more than double what Sir Mervyn King is paid.
