As small business week kicks off (October 14 – October 20), Ernst & Young is reminding everyone how important entrepreneurs are when it comes to stimulating economic growth in Canada.
“Small businesses and entrepreneurs generate the big ideas that drive innovation and growth,” says Colleen McMorrow, Ernst & Young’s Canadian leader of entrepreneurial services.

She adds, “They take risks that help create jobs and generate wealth. They push the economy forward. And they invest in communities across the country.”
Last month, there was an uptick in small business owner confidence, according to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB).

The Business Barometer index increased to 62.0, from 60.0 in August. This comes after five months of continuous decline.
