CIBC has announced several changes to its executive management team.

Richard Nesbitt has been named chief operating officer, CIBC, effective immediately. He previously held the title of senior executive vice president, CIBC, and Group Head, Wholesale, International, and Technology and Operations.

In this role, Nesbitt will maintain his current responsibilities for the operations of Wholesale Banking, Technology and Operations, Strategy and Corporate Development, CIBC’s International Operations and Treasury.

Additional changes, effective July 1, 2013, include :

  • Tom Woods as vice chairman, CIBC. He will be responsible for chairing the bank’s Asset Liability Committee; acting as lead liaison with the bank’s regulators; and being an active member of the bank’s business strategy group.
  • Laura Dottori-Attanasio as chief risk officer, CIBC. She will be responsible for leading and overseeing the bank’s risk function and chairing the bank’s Capital and Risk Committee.
