Raymond Chang, former CEO of CI Financial, passed away on the weekend at the age of 65.

Chang, who had Leukemia, was known as a giant on Bay Street and in the world of philanthropy, reports Toronto Star.

It adds he came to Canada in 1967 from Jamaica, and that he graduated in 1970 from the University of Toronto as an electrical engineer. Chang then “joined with partners in a tiny investment fund company in 1983, [which was] managing $5 million in assets when it started…[That] firm morphed into CI Financial, [which is] now managing more than $60 billion.” Read more.
