In early May, Franklin Templeton announced the launch of its Franklin LibertyShares ETF platform, which was set to include an initial suite of two actively managed ETFs and two strategic beta ETFs.

Now, Franklin Templeton Investments Canada has released the two actively managed funds: the Franklin Liberty Risk Managed Canadian Equity ETF and Franklin Liberty Canadian Investment Grade Corporate ETF. Both began trading on the TSX on May 30, under the tickers FLRM and FLCI, respectively.

FLRM invests in a diversified portfolio of Canadian equities and is co-managed by Franklin Bissett’s Jason Hornett, vice-president and portfolio manager; and Tim Caulfield, vice-president, portfolio manager and director of equity research.

FLCI invests primarily in investment-grade corporate debt issued by Canadian corporations. The fund is co-managed by Franklin Bissett’s Darcy Briggs, vice-president and portfolio manager; and Adrienne Young, vice-president, portfolio manager and director of credit research.

On June 5, The Franklin LibertyShares platform in Canada will be expanded to include two strategic beta ETFs: the Franklin LibertyQT U.S. Equity Index ETF and Franklin LibertyQT International Equity Index ETF.
