Investment dealer Raymond James Ltd., the Canadian arm of North American investment dealer Raymond James Financial, Inc., today announced that Gavin McOuat is joining its mining investment banking group as managing director and co-head of Investment Banking Mining and Metals effective June 10, 2013.

McOuat will be based in Toronto and work closely with fellow co-head of Mining, John Murphy, who will continue to serve mining clients from the Raymond James Vancouver office.

McOuat joins Raymond James from Barclays, where he was the global co-head of Metals and Mining. He was responsible for primary coverage of the mining and metals companies operating in the Americas and co-manager of the Barclays’ global mining team. He advised on several M&A and financing transactions in Canada and the US.

Prior to that, McOuat was a managing director in the mining and metals investment banking groups at Citigroup Global Markets and National Bank. He holds a LLM in Mineral Law and Policy and a B. Comm.
