The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) is running RegHackTO, the first hackathon by a Canadian securities regulator. The event brings together Canadian innovators, strategists and developers to collaborate on possible solutions to shared challenges in regulation.

The event follows the establishment of OSC LaunchPad, which engages with fintech businesses, provides support in navigating requirements, and strives to keep regulation in step with digital innovation.

RegHackTO takes place in Toronto from Friday, November 25, at 5 p.m. EST through Sunday, November 27, at 3 p.m. EST at the offices of Bitmaker (220 King Street West).

Individuals or teams of up to six members can participate. Submissions are judged by a panel that includes Maureen Jensen, chair and CEO of the OSC, Joseph Lubin, founder of ConsenSys and Ethereum, and other industry experts.
