Great-West Life has named senior executive Monique Maynard as president of Quebec Affairs for the company and subsidiaries London Life and Canada Life. The appointment is effective immediately.

In this new role, Maynard will act as an advocate with Quebec policy makers and regulators for the insurance and financial industry.

In addition, Maynard will move into the role of chief actuary for Great-West Life’s companies in Canada, when the current chief actuary retires in mid-2017.

Additional announcements

Great-West Life, London Life and Canada Life have also announced they’re structuring their Canadian operations around two business units: one focused on individual customers and one on group customers.

As part of this change, president and COO Stefan Kristjanson has announced three appointments, effective immediately:

  • Jeff Macoun will be executive vice-president of Group Customers. He was most recently the leader of the Group Life & Health businesses.
  • Gerry Hassett will be executive vice-president of Individual Customers. He will relocate from Dublin, Ireland, and most recently held the position of managing director of Irish Life Financial Services.
  • Stéphane Dubreuil will be executive vice-president of Strategic Customer Marketing. In this new role, he’ll build on the company’s digital and data capabilities.
