Planning to indulge in a pint of Guinness this St. Patrick’s day? You may not be among the masses.

Since 2008, sales of Diageo products, which brews Guinness, have generally declined. They’ve risen only slightly in the brewer’s homeland of Ireland, reports The Economist. Last year, Diageo lost eight times as many sales of Guinness in Britain as it gained in Ireland. Read more.

Further, beer sales are on the decline as consumers opt for spirits or wine. Over the last six years, the amount of beer consumed in Britain and Ireland has fallen by 20%, finds Euromonitor.
