Investors Group has signed the United Nations-supported principles for responsible investment.

Global investors representing $45 trillion in assets under management have signed the agreement, with the goal of developing a more sustainable global financial system.

The PRI is a set of six aspirational principles that offer a framework for integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into the investment analysis and decision-making process for mainstream investment managers. Investors Group believes companies who practice good ESG management are often those that demonstrate strong performance over the long-term.

Investors Group has 154 mutual funds and more than $72 billion in assets under management. Its offices are located in Dublin, Hong Kong, Toronto, Montreal and Winnipeg.
