KPMG in Canada has elected Elio Luongo to serve as its next CEO, for a five-year term starting October 1.

Luongo has 30 years of experience in corporate planning and restructuring. Elio currently serves as the managing partner of KPMG’s tax practice.

Elio is succeeding Bill Thomas, who will complete his term as CEO. Bill will then focus his time on his international role as chair of KPMG’s Americas Region.

Since joining KPMG in 1987, Elio has held various leadership roles, including business unit leader of the Greater Vancouver Area (GVA), regional managing partner of the GVA and, most recently, Canadian managing partner of Tax.
