Manulife Financial Corporation announced today net income attributed to shareholders of $1,057 million for Q4, accompanied by strong growth in insurance and wealth sales.

Fully diluted earnings per common share (EPS) was $0.56 and return on common shareholders’ equity (ROE) was 18.2% for Q4. For the full year, Manulife reported net income attributed to shareholders of $1,736 million, diluted EPS of $0.88 and ROE of 7.1%.

In Q4 2012 Manulife generated $537 million of core earnings. Fully diluted core earnings per common share (core EPS) was $0.28 and core return on common shareholders’ equity (core ROE) was 9.0%. For the full year, Manulife reported core earnings of $2,187 million, core EPS of $1.12 and core ROE of 9.1%.
