The Ontario Securities Commission is seeking applications for membership on its Securities Proceedings Advisory Committee (SPAC).

Established in 2013, the SPAC advises the Office of the Secretary to the Commission on a variety of policy and procedural initiatives relating to proceedings before the OSC’s administrative tribunal.

The committee consists of staff from the Office of the Secretary and the Enforcement Branch as well as 10 to 12 members that represent the private sector. The committee meets approximately three to four times per year.

Private sector members serve three-year terms and must be in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada and currently practising, or have within the last three years practised in the area of securities litigation.

Applicants should have an excellent knowledge of Ontario securities law and have significant practice experience in securities litigation. Applicants must also have excellent technical knowledge and experience, and a strong interest in the development of securities regulatory proceedings policy.
