Bruce Ross will join RBC in early January 2014 as group head, technology and operations, the bank announced.

He will report directly to Gordon M. Nixon, RBC President and CEO, and join the Group Executive, the bank’s senior management committee, reflecting the strategic importance of technology in the financial services industry.

Ross will set the strategic direction and oversee overall management of global technology and operations for RBC, which includes applications development, infrastructure and enterprise operations.

He joins RBC from IBM, where he was general manager, global technology services for North America.
