The average Wall Street bonus last year is the third-highest on record, reports Reuters, and it’s the biggest payout since the 2008 crash.

A traders’ bonus was worth $164,530 on average, says Reuters, citing numbers from the New York state comptroller’s office. The Street’s bonus pool was $26.7 billion in 2013, up 15% from the year before. The total doesn’t include other bonus items like stock options or deferred pay.

The financial sector contributed $3.8 billion, or 8.5%, of tax revenue to New York City in 2013.
