Most finance profesionals skip out on seeking a lunchtime endorphin rush, says a new poll.
Almost half of the professionals surveyed (46%) say they typically spend their lunch breaks alone, with only 17% finding time to workout. This is contrary to what most respondents actually want, however, since 48% say they would like to either exercise or enjoy meals with coworkers.
Some respondents take the time to surf the Internet (36%) or run errands (34%).
But more workers should consider stepping away from their desks, says Dianne Hunnam-Jones, Canadian president of Accountemps. “Taking any type of break allows [people] to connect with colleagues, explore business insights and exchange ideas across departments. That has the potential to be formative for your future career growth.”
